Bonus Tip: Quantifying Content Creation
Last week and this week, I shared some thoughts on how to quantify content velocity in Adobe Analytics. As part of that post, I showed how to assign a publish date to each piece of content via a SAINT Classification like this:
Once you have this data in Adobe Analytics, you can download your SAINT file and clean it up a bit to see your content by date published in a table like this:
The last three columns split out the Year, the Month and then I added a “1” for each post. Adding these three columns allows you to then build a pivot table to see how often content is published by both Month and Year:
Then you can chart these like you would any other pivot table. Here are blog posts by month:
Here are blog posts by year:
As long as you are going to go through the work of documenting the publish date of your key content, you can use this bonus tip to leverage your SAINT Classifications file to do some cool reporting on your content creation.
